"George Tiller, the Wichita doctor who became a national lightning
rod in the debate over abortion, was shot to death this morning as he
walked into church services.
"Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th, where he was a member of the congregation. Witnesses and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim."
I suppose it could have been random or gang-related. But if the perpetrator was a self-styled right-to-life Christian, then there's more than a little internal clashing of "values" going on here.
There's a commandment floating around out there (the sixth of ten, I think) -- and it does not say "Thou shalt not kill unless you're killing someone who disagrees with you on a political or religious issue."
