by Damozel | "Gov. Paterson said Tuesday he has finally zeroed in on a candidate to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate - but wants to mull it over a few more days," says The New York Daily News (via Memeorandum).
Sources close to Paterson say they believe Caroline Kennedy is still the front-runner - despite the fact the governor has recently been talking up Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-Hudson).
"I have a good idea now which direction I want to go," said Paterson, who was in Washington for President Obama's inauguration. Despite the national anticipation, Paterson said he will wait a few more days before making an announcement.
Neener neener, he's not going to tell...us...yet! Either he's just trying to make the press poodles dance a little longer so he can carry on being a cynosure or else he's waiting till nobody cares anymore (as I already don't).
Who knows? Not me. Opinions among my colleagues here at BN-Politics are divided as to whether it should be La Caroline. As noted, I no longer give a damn. Any reasonable Democrat will do.

As you know, I, you know, no longer, um, give a damn, either, you know. Any reasonable, um, coherent Dem you might happen to know will, you know, do. And you know what else? With the late Mr. Buckley, I, would also, you know, "rather live in a society governed by the first 2,000 names in the Boston phone directory than in one governed by the 2,000 members of the Harvard faculty."
