by Deb Cupples | It's great to be a Florida Gator, as they say in my neck of the woods. We all think of ourselves as bleeding orange and blue -- even when we see red evidence to the contrary. Such is the nature of Gator fans. Anyway, the Gators beat Alabama Saturday. ESPN tells us:
"Tim Tebow
threw three touchdown passes -- including the decisive score with just
under 3 minutes remaining -- to lead the No. 2 Gators to a 31-20
victory over No. 1 Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship
game on Saturday. That should be enough to give Florida a spot in the
BCS title game for the second time in three years.
UF's website says that the Gators have won eight SEC titles: 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2006, and 2008. Congratulations and Go Gators!
I really thought Florida would finish the season just out of reach, but now I think it's going to basically another game of proof (the BCS) that shows how much better the SEC is. All year long, all we've heard is how awesome Texas and Oklahoma are.
