by Deb Cupples | Shame on John McCain's campaign strategists for utterly failing to prepare Gov. Sarah Palin to project herself as a knowledgeable and articulate candidate!
I ardently disagree with most of what Gov. Sarah Palin stands for politically, but I have things in common with her. We're both women, brown-haired, in our not-quite-mid-40s, and born under the sign Aquarius. We both wear skirt suits. She also looks like one of my best friends.
I certainly don't want to see Gov. Palin become Vice President Palin, but I do feel for her. And I resent the McCain Campaign's strategists feeding of lines to Gov. Palin that make her look downright moronic. I'd feel differently if I knew that McCain were paying her piles of cash in exchange for turning the poor woman into a national joke.
Below is a video clip of Gov. Palin chatting with CBS's Katie Couric (about one minute), which illustrates what I mean. The moronitude spans Palin's original comment and her explanation of that comment.
This isn't the first time McCain's strategists sent poor Gov. Palin out unprepared to do anything but make a fool of herself.
The woman actually claimed -- yes, publicly, in front of TV cameras -- that she has foreign policy experience by virtue of the fact that Alaska is geographically close to Canada and Russia. You can see that video clip here.
Better yet, watch Tina Fey's spoof on Gov. Palin's interview with Katie Couric (below).
Memeorandum has commentary.
