by Deb Cupples | Our nation has been at war for 5+ years in two Mid-East countries: Iraq and Afghanistan. Last week, U.S. forces carried out a ground raid in Pakistan, killing dozens of people including civilians -- and the Bush Administration, it turns out, has been ordering secret raids in that nation for some time. Today, U.S. forces killed 10 people in Pakistan via missile attack.
The International Herald Tribune reports:
"At least 10 people were killed on Friday in a missile attack by a U.S. aircraft in the northwestern Pakistani region of North Waziristan, a haven for al Qaeda and Taliban militants, a security official said.
"The strike, near the town of Miranshah, was the first since a recent surge in tension between Pakistan and the United States over how to tackle the Taliban and al Qaeda along the border with Afghanistan.
"'Yes, missiles have been fired. We have reports that more than 10 people were killed,' a security official said. (IHT)
Presumably, the powers that be in Washington have some sort of strategy -- leaving onlookers logically wondering whether war with Pakistan is the next step.
This at a time when our military resources are stretched thin and our economy is poised to crumble?
