by Deb Cupples | A few days ago, we learned about the arrest of journalist Amy Goodman during the Republican National Convention. Reportedly, Ms. Goodman had merely asked policeman why two of her producers had been arrested.
Yesterday, Huffington Post reported:
"By Friday morning, dozens of journalists, photographers, bloggers and videomakers had been booked by the Ramsey County [Minnesota] Sheriff's office in what appears to have been an orchestrated round-up of media makers covering protests during the convention."
Apparently, the folks running the Republicans' convention didn't like the idea of protesters getting media coverage.
Reportedly, angry citizens and journalists gathered at St. Paul City Hall yesterday to deliver 60,000 letters demanding that authorities drop the charges against arrested journalists who were simply doing their job.
