by Deb Cupples | To the left is a photo of my neighborhood Texaco station's sign, taken last night (August 5): the price was $3.89 a gallon for regular unleaded. About 3 miles up the same street, the Shell station was selling regular unleaded for 10 cents more a gallon.
Across the street from the Shell station is a Citgo selling regular unleaded for $3.88 (11 cents less than Shell).

Though I'm no expert, this suggests that gasoline retailers have a
bit of flexibility in terms of what they charge us consumers....
Below are some prices over time for regular unleaded at my North Central Florida Texaco gas station:.
