by Deb Cupples | Tropical Storm Fay took out my electricity for about four hours on Saturday and took down a huge tree near my North Central Florida abode. I was lucky.
According to the Washington Post, people were being ferried from their houses in boats in DeBary (a town about 25 miles north of Orlando) because some streets were under four feet of water.
Some Tallahassee neighborhoods were also flooded, with water rising up to the mailboxes. It gets worse.
Apparently, Fay caused 13 deaths in the U.S., 11 of them in Florida. So far, four counties have been declared "disaster areas"" Brevard, Monroe, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie.
