by Damozel | I very sorry to learn that Robert Novak has a brain tumor. As I shall further addres, I feel bad for assuming that his recent accident was a hit and run.
Michelle Malkin is, as usual, wrong, at least as regards the nutroots I know" 'There will, of course, be gloating and death wishes on the nutroots side of the Internet aisle. Ignore it all.' Malkin always projects her rage, cowardice, and bile onto everyone else. The Chicago Sun-Times has the story:
Novak, 77, struck a pedestrian last Wednesday while driving his Chevrolet Corvette in Washington, D.C. The man he struck suffered minor injuries, according to the Associated Press. Novak was issued a $50 citation.
Asked whether the accident might have been linked to the columnist's medical condition, Novak's reporter, Charlie Spiering, said today, "It's really too early to tell."
Novak said he didn't realize what happened and continued driving until a bicyclist stopped him, the Associated Press reported. David Bono, the bicyclist, said the pedestrian was hit in a crosswalk and was splayed across Novak's windshield. (Chicago Sun-Times)
I imagine it was most definitely related. I suffered for years from what was most likely a seizure disorder due to a head injury or fever (or both). I often didn't black out, but I didn't know what I was doing. Since I knew I had it, I didn't drive, swim, or bike, but even so, there were quite a few traumatically embarrassing incidents over the years.
It's hard for other people to imagine what it's like. It's even hard for me---I don't remember much afterward.
They don't know yet if Novak's tumor is benign.
I shall say a Quaker's prayer for his swift and embrace my remorse. I was wrong to attribute the incident to a sociopathic indifference to others. People are, after all, more than the sum of their political philosophies.
This does not apply, naturally, to Michelle Malkin.
