by D. Cupples | Two polls show Hillary Clinton gaining ground on Barack Obama in terms of nationwide preference:
.....................Gallup (3/14-3/18).....Reuters/Zogby (3/15-3/18)
Clinton..........49%..........................44%
Obama...........42%..........................47%
The results don't matter so much: it's the changes. In the Reuters/Zogby poll from last month, Obama had a 14-point lead, now it's down to 3 points. In Gallup's daily tracking polls, Clinton hasn't had the lead since early February: now she's up 7 points, which is above the margin of error. Not all polls show the same trend.
Rasmussen's daily tracking polls show Obama at 49% and Hillary 42%. Yesterday, it was Obama 45% and Hillary 44%.
As I've said 43 times (or so), this year alone, polls are not reliable -- and when they conflict, one of them will end up being wrong. But, for those who enjoy looking at numbers, I figured I'd post some. Memeorandum has commentary.
