Posted by D. Cupples | From Memeorandum, the latest Reuters/Zogby poll indicates that American voters are in a "throw the bums out" mood. Below are a few results:
* 24% think President Bush is doing a good job (last month: 29%)
* 11% think Congress is doing a good job (last month: 11%)
* 18% positively viewed foreign policy (last month: 24%)
* 26% positively viewed economic policy (last month: 30%)
* 26% think the country is going in right direction (66% don't)
The latest Washington Post/ABC (released October 2) also showed low numbers for both the President and Congress, but survey questions probed whether participants make distinctions between congressional Republicans and Democrats. As the table below suggests, they do -- and they seem to blame Republicans for Congress' failures....
Congress's Approval Rating 29%
Approve of Rs in Congress 29%
Approve of Ds in Congress 38%
Blame Ds for Congress's inaction 25%
Blame Ds & Rs for Congress's inaction 20%
Blame President & Rs for Congress' inaction 51%
Bush's Approval Rating 33%
