Via Real Time and Crooks and Liars, Larry Craig Calling Bill Clinton "A Nasty, Bad Naughty Boy."

posted by Damozel | Cockney Robin, The Crux, and I all feel terribly sorry for Larry Craig, despite the hypocrisy.   On the other hand:  the hypocrisy!   After an email exchange with Cockney Robin, I decided that no amount of sympathy should---or could---prevent me from posting this, which I just saw on Real Time and Robin saw earlier at Crooks and Liars.

It is choice, especially, as Maher remarked, the expression on Chris Matthews' little face afterward.

Even giving Craig the benefit of every doubt, nobody on the planet could be as prissily righteous as he is over Bill Clinton's "bad, naughty" behavior (!) without being a hypocrite, because nobody on earth is that righteous.  And I'm not even going to comment on Craig's gestures, word choice, or general demeanor.

Then watch this at Crooks and Liars:  Disgraced Ex-Congressman Tom Delay Talks About Disgraced Senator Larry Craig. Logan Murphy:

Former Republican Congressman and poster child for government corruption Tom Delay appeared on Hardball today to talk with Chris Matthews about the Larry Craig sex scandal. I knew this was going to be bad when Matthews introduced him as Mr. Leader. Matthews has a strange fascination with Delay...Delay’s basic argument is that Republicans deal with their bad apples while the Democrats rally behind theirs and re-elect them. I don't understand Chris Matthews' tolerance for DeLay either, but against my wishes I quite like him, but the irony of Tom DeLay holding forth on the subject of bad apples and the need to get rid of them....It's not even hypocrisy, it's just sheer effing gall and instantly put me back on poor Craig's side...
