Today, as expected, Italia Federici pled guilty to charges stemming from the investigation of lobbyist-turned-prison-inmate Jack Abramoff. Federici is the second person with close ties to former Interior Secretary Gale Norton to plead guilty re: the Abramoff scandal (The Hill).
It's too early to tell whether Norton is next in line or too-well sheltered. Federici's sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 16.
Federici was president of a reportedly sham-environmental organization (Council of Republicans for Environmental Advocacy), through which Abramoff funneled $500,000 in exchange for access to Norton and other Interior officials.
