Amid the fired-US-Attorneys-scandal, Paul McNulty (the Justice Department's second in command) announced that he plans to resign, date to be determined this summer. According to The Hill:
"McNulty fanned the flames of the scandal by admitting early on that some of the fired federal prosecutors were not asked to leave based on poor performance, as Justice originally asserted."
When questioned by Congress, McNulty gave some straight answers--yet his head will roll. Gonzales (theoretically, Justice's final buck-stopper) answered Congress's questions more than 60 times with some variation of "I don't recall" (see video)--yet he still has a job.
