Arkansas Chair Bill Gwatney is Shot in His Office; Collateral Damage: Malkin's Feelings Get Wounded

To add to the anguish, poor little Malkin received a mean email accusing her and her wingnut cronies of complicity.  In a post entitled "I Shot the Arkansas Democrat Party Chairman," she was so upset by a mean email arguing that her gospel of hatefulness might have something to do with this that she "forgot" to remove the emailer's address.  Well, that emailer will know better next time. 

It's way premature to be talking about complicity since nobody even knows the gunman's motive.

But at least there is a certain dark comedy in watching the wingnuts spin. 

Poor wounded Malkin says:

I’m already getting blamed for the incident.

I am also guilty of last month’s shooting at a Knoxville church, for which a nutroots blogger similarly says I need to be held “accountable.”

For what? For blogging, writing columns, and authoring books with which they disagree.

Such stalwart, principled champions of free speech they are.

That's so sad.. 

A man just died after being shot several times, but let's all shed a tear for Michelle and the paranoid  mouthpieces of the far right----and work off our grief by emailing the guy who accused her.

Jesse Taylor responds to Malkin's moan that liberals wish to deny her free speech:

The problem isn’t that you say things with which liberals disagree.  The problem is that you say things which quite openly advocate grossly racist and dehumanizing attitudes, that you’re obsessed with declaring the most innocent of statements and actions traitorous and threatening, and that you’re generally crazy stalkerish asshole. And whenever you’re held responsible for the insane, dangerous things that you say, you hide behind freedom of speech as if it entails freedom from responsibility for what you say. 

None of us want to silence Michelle Malkin or any of her fellow nutjobs, if only out of respect for their Constitutional rights.  But none of us would mind if they shut the hell up and thought about what the words “objectively pro terror” actually meant. 

Here is the nutshell version of the developing wingnut angst, which strikes me as a bit previous, given that we don't know the man's motive:

Confederate Yankee: Terrible!  But the gunman may---or may not---or may---or may not---have been a former employee of Gwatney who lost his job, or someone who lost his job at some point, or someone who once had a job.  Damn that backtracking media.   Meanwhile, the paranoid Left rush to judgment. 

Cassy Fiano at Stop the ACLU: Bill Gwatney was shot.  The stupid libtards are at it again.   Here's that email address, in case you didn't get it the first time.

Gateway Pundit: That didn't take long.  Meanwhile, I am proving that I am deeply concerned about the Chair of the Arkansas Democrats by providing up-to-the-minute information.

Crooks and Liars has an interesting postscript:  "It’s interesting how bonkers the media and the far right wingers are about our comment sections. Well, in the heavily vetted Malkin site, this one stood out. Claiming the Clintons were responsible for a murder in AR to tell Obama that he would be assassinated if he doesn’t fall in line is as sick as it gets."
