Damozel (administrator)
Damozel grew up in a South Carolina milltown during the first years of racially integrated schools. She remembers the days when there were separate waiting rooms for African-Americans and was brought up until the age of 14 by impoverished African-American women who had to pick up after her. She was secretly politicized and christianized and Democratized by these same great ladies, which explains almost everything about her politics. 
Though she calls herself a Christian she spells it with a small "c" and doesn't capitalize pronouns that refer to Jesus ("If he wants them capitalized, he can get his own blog"). Though she's totally a God-botherer, she grew up being viewed by her Bible Belt relatives as a very marginal one and feels apologetic toward her atheist husband and agnostic friends. But there seems nothing to be done about it.
In other words, she has no choice except to be a (moderate) Democrat.
She doesn't dislike Republicans, since her entire family consists exclusively of nothing else but. Instead, she tries earnestly to understand them; and though she generally fails, she hasn't yet given up on the undertaking.
You may be wondering whether it's possible that she might really be called "Damozel." Of course it's possible. Kingsley Amis once wrote, "There is nothing under the sun an American can't be called." So let's put it this way, on the internet, she's "Damozel," even though the name belies her stately years and marital status. It's a nickname dating back 25 years to her college days, when the nickname "the disquieting damozel" was bestowed on her by a couple of professors [cf. Rossetti, Chirico, and---most particularly--Sylvia Plath).
Mother, mother, what illbred aunt
Or what disfigured and unsightly
Cousin did you so unwisely keep
Unasked to my christening, that she
Sent these ladies in her stead
With heads like darning-eggs to nod
And nod and nod at foot and head
And at the left side of my crib?
All the disquieting implications remain valid.

As a Canadian observer, I feel it would
be the epitome of foolishness for "Precious Obama" [as Lou Dobbs called him!] to get the nomination. His anorexic resume and cluelessness re foreign policy issues would render Him an even more catastrophic president than George W. And McCain would devour Obambi inevitably!
Hillary's UNIVERSAL health care is similar to the very successful Canadian national plan since 1965--and we enjoy comprehensive care for ALL Canadians, regarless of income. Don't listen to negative media. We choose our specialists, do not have to pay for medical care. And Women's Equality Rights are entrenched in our Constitution since 1982!..unlike still struggling ERA...

I recall in 1971, John Lennon's most popular Song: "WOMAN IS THE NEGRO OF THE WORLD"...You know, Damozel, I think SNL's Tina Fey must know the lyrics.....
